Setting Themes and Syntax Highlighting:

Start the text editor "EmEditor".

Select "Service => Properties for all configurations"

Click on the "View" tab

Opposite the "Subject:" line with the drop-down list, click the arrow>

In the opened context menu, select "Import ..." and point to the file "with the extension .eetheme"

To the question "Delete old threads?" agree with "Yes", so that the topics already existing by default are not repeated.

Select a new topic from the list of topics. I recommend "Black color".

Installing syntax files:

Download the required syntax file (with the extension * .esy)

Open your program file in EmEditor and go to "Tools -> Select Configuration -> Define Configurations ... (at the very end of the list)"

Select the file type, for example С ++, C #, ASP, BAT - to which you want to apply the syntax.

Click on the right button "Properties".

The header of the settings window that opens will display "Properties: your file type".

Go to the "Backlight (1)" tab and click the "Import ..." button.

Point to your syntax file * .esy

Now the highlighting for a certain type of file will highlight the source code in a certain way.

Features of Portable:

Portable version from the developer, refers to the so-called "Pseudo Portable" programs, as the activation key stores in the system. 

Therefore, if you carry this program with you on a flash drive or reinstall the system, you will need to enter the key again. Copy Keys.txt to the program folder in advance so that you can always get the key from there.

Treatment procedure:

Block access to the Internet to the executable file emeditor.exe using a firewall or via HOSTS (this is optional, but one day the key may fly off and you will have to re-enter it).

Blocking via HOSTS:

Open the hosts file with notepad on behalf of the Administrator in the following path:

C: WindowsSystem32driversetchosts

and paste these 2 lines at the end:

0.0.0.0 th.symcb.com

0.0.0.0 th.symcd.com

To register, run the program, if the window "About the program" itself does not appear with a question about automatic updates, click on the menu "Help -> About program ...".

After the program information window appears, click on "OK", the window will close and a new window will open with a button for entering registration data.

Click this button.

Enter in the top field any name, and in the second field, insert any key from the file "Keys.txt"
